UPDATE on May 2008,
Now I do paid posts again. I have made some new improvements such all the paid post won’t appear on the feed, so you will not even know if there is a paid post.
I give readers tips about make money online, how could I give you tips about to make money by writing reviews if I don’t do it by my self?
Now you got the answer
–
Yes, I quit from paid posts. From now, you will see no more paid posts, or sponsored posts, or sponsored reviews or whatever they call it! Not again! No more! Not on JackBook.Com!
Does it make money no more for me?
Actually Sponsored Posts have given me a really nice revenue monthly. November 2007, the first month I try to make money from this site. I made $430 that month. And from $430, I made $260 from the sponsored reviews. That is 60% of a total revenue.
What about December 2007? The next month after? Do I still make money from Sponsored Reviews? the answer is YES. I even made money much better then the previous month. I got some offers of sponsored reviews, here is one of the screenshot of SponsoredReviews offer.
That is $200 for one post. Yea, the money is so sweet. And I got about 6 review offers on December 2007. So it is not because sponsored reviews didn’t make money for me.
Why I quit? Should you quit too?
No, of course you don’t have to. I have my own reason which probably doesn’t make sense for you. Well, i guess each people have their own reason for this. but for me, this is my reason.
I quite from paid posts because..
Each time people buy a review from this site, I assume that they must be expecting for some amount of traffics, and probably affiliates from this site readers.
Let’s take an example, let’s say it’s a web hosting company.
If a web hosting company bought a paid reviews here on jackbook.com, they should expect to get some new customers from the site readers.
or let’s say it is an affiliates company, they must expect this site readers get interested to join their affiliate system.
And that become a problem for me. Somehow I just don’t feel right with my heart. I always be haunted by these questions
- what if there is no one care about that web hosting company?
- what if there is no one bought a web hosting there?
- what if there is no one care about that affiliate company?
- what if there is only one people join their affiliates?
I don’t think I deserve for that $200 for just a single post. I feel so guilty for this. And that makes me hard to sleep, and bother me so much.
Probably some of you will say like this
“Hey Jack, don’t worry about that, advertisers bought a review post from you is not for that reason. Most advertisers buy a review post because they want to have a backlink from a high quality site with a high pagerank like yours, so they can get a high pagerank too on the next pagerank update”
Yea, I know. Most advertisers buy a sponsored review because they want to collect backlinks from high pagerank sites, with their chosen anchor.
There! There is the another reason i quit. I don’t like people take control about what I should write, what I should link, what I should say, and basically what i should do here on my own site. Almost all advertisers request a chosen anchor for their links. I don’t like that. So this is the another reason for me.
So finally now here I am. If any of you had plan to buy a review post here on jackbook.com, sorry guys, I quit.

hey jack,
i love this quote:
There is the another reason i quit. I don’t like people take control about what I should write, what I should link, what I should say, and basically what i should do here on my own site. Almost all advertisers request a chosen anchor for their links. I don’t like that. So this is the another reason for me.
u really are what u did…
u are strong man jack…no one can control what u want to do…
im agree with u too…
I think you’ve forgotten the main reaseon jacky, Uncle Google doesn’t like this kindda sponsored review…
…you can decrease your PR if you STILL do the sponsored review…am I right fella ?
i though that G decrease our PR because of TLA…
Hi Jack,
I can understand your reason why you want to quit PPP or any kinds of it, personally I must say the money they offer is sweet and so far as a newbie, I make most of residual income from this, but in another side also ruin my page rank and adsense doing some strict screening and my PR just free fall from PR 4 to PR 0, is this also the reason for you to quit from this PPP or sponsored review? have a great day..
cheers,
I’d love to write for 200 dollars. This is why I have two blogs. One I will care about tenderly, the other will be for that income that may decrease my PR, but on a blog I dont care about.

i believed that you can make more money without it..
great decision man
jack i commend your brave act. I mean 200 dollars is a very big amount. Do you know many bloggers want to earn that much for a single review. but you are right on your own way. Personally, I have stopped receiving reviews for my blog http://spaceofinfluence.blogspot.com .That blog was penalized by google from PR4 to PR-0. That was the painful sign I needed to refrain from making sponsored reviews.
Have you have stopped writing paid reviews completely or write only selective ones ??
And when your PR dropped ??
What can I say? I’m not going to argue about it. All I can say is “One man meat is one man poison!” Whatever it is, I still respect your decision, and I expect people to respect whatever decision I may take.
Greetings and lots of love from Malaysia.
Jack, don’t feel guilty for getting $200 for a single post, i wish i could get $200 for a single post.
you right spritemoney!!!
Dont worry Jack, we all will still support you !
It’s good that you want to do it your way without being control by someone else. I like your way, because i feel the same too..
Keep it up !

Another great thing you did, Jack. I just started making some money with sponsored reviews so I don’t think I can give it up right now. Maybe when I meet my monthly earnings goals, then I will give up sponsored reviews. But right now, I can’t.
I like you Jack because you’re so honest

it’s really great decision… you’re true blogger
I didn’t understand what’s that ??? which site offer this service tell me please ??
Yes I’m appreciate it, but maybe everyone have been own choice and known the risk if following the paid post, like Mr. Jack you have huge traffic and more opportunities for direct advertising to advertiser and more safe to keep PR, and I know your position the 1st in the SR and equivalent the value with your site, but I’m proud too with you, became 1st list in the SR
