Backlink helps our site to be indexed by Search engine faster. that is the first thing for you to know. As i said before about what is backlink good for(it’s my review for john blog), backlinks help our blog to be indexed by Google faster. no matter how good your site is, without any backlink from other site, it’s like your site is a great mall in the deep jungle. so hard for people to find and visit your site.
How To Get a Higher PageRank? you must have as many backlinks for your site. more backlinks, then more pagerank! but it is not the quantity actually. It’s also about the quality. 1 Backlink from a PageRank 5 Site, would be so much better then 50 backlinks from PR 0 sites.
More Backlinks, More higher PageRank! Google shows the list of all sites ordered base on PageRank. Pagerank means how trustable your site is. More Higher your pagerank is, then more trusted your site. So usually, the higher pagerank will be on top of other sites on Google Search Result Page (SERP). And this means better traffic.
Finish? Higher Pagerank rules the Search Engine Result? No, it doesn’t always work like that. Sometimes a lower pagerank site shown on the top of the other higher pagerank sites. how could that happens? well, Modern Search Engines has new technique. It’s not that new anyway It is LATENT SEMANTIC INDEXING (LSI).
It would be a long-long post if I write an explanation of it, The main thing is, Your site will have a better position if you have more backlinks from same topic sites.
Take a look at john’s site. Almost all of his blog reader are making money bloggers, so his blog will be so much powerful on SERP for making money keywords.
So, get links as many as you can! and improve your pagerank!

Hi Jack, I checked up links to my blog on google and found that I had posted a question on the google help group which came as a link to my site. I had created a profile on some site where I mentioned my url and I got a link from there and I posted a video on youtube and got a link from there and a couple of technorati links. So no real backlinks to say and suddenly I have a page rank of 2. How can that happen?
Hi Jack, Vikas again. Update: Checked up the links of Sameer’s Page Rank 5 blog and found he had 2 links, both from comments he had left on 2 different sites, one having a PR of 2 and the other a PR of 3 and he writes almost 2-3 posts in a month and gets about 20 visitors on a lucky day (as he himself says) and he gets a page rank of 5. There is more to page ranks than we all understand.
Yeah even I am surprised… But my blog shows up (very high that is) for some searches related to internships (I had written 2 posts on my tests) So I guess the pagerank is not fluke
But certainly you can’t predict it….
I am not much surprised and agree with you guys! Google PR is something like google’s mood. No one knows (except google) how pagerank actually can do something with your search result. Even many are confused how PR comes! For txt-link-ads and sponsored ads ‘tag’ once many higher PR sites fall badly. So it’s upto google, I am also interested to know the actual technique of making higher PR.
Very interesting article about Google Page Rank!I’m actually trying to improve mine(my blog is Page Rank 2),but stil,I can’t uderstand how with just 4 or 5 backlinks I already have Page Rank 2…Not a big deal,but still…
