I’m leaving Blogger free service. Free services don’t come with customer service & help. I’ve just completed my first blog’s move to wordpress and it is now has a nice new home. My internet life experience is much much better now.

Sorry, later on entrepreneuriality.com. There are some precious backlinks to the site (mostly from a PR5 site jackbook.com) so i think i should put some thoughts and learn some more techniques before moving it to WP.

My other blog rockstarpundit.com was a victim of Custom Domain Error. Perhaps dozen other blogger bloggers were also experiencing that lately after Google offer buy domain through them option (that leads to unresolved Custom Domain publishing errors!). RP used to have PR3 then it became PR ZERO. Great. That way i had nothing to lose.

Now RP is using blogohblog template as a start. By far, among other free templates, i think BOB has the coolest style to showing off latest posts (at the bottom of newest post) rather than those scroll down templates the blogger.com way if you know what i’m saying :-).

I don’t know why Google want to against other blogger where they don’t allowed us to put our links there.
I think it’s time to ask blogger to get their own domain, time to install wordpress template!

I noticed that yesterday. I searched about it and found it that google had done it on purpose. I do not like it at all. Atleast we should be allowed to leave our comments and URI after we read a blog but now we can no longer leave our url.

WTF!! I didn’t know blogger removed the option of putting a link while leaving a comment till i read this post.

google=DICKtator

I think now lots of people will be moving their blogs from blogger.com to ownhosting wordpress.

Wordpress is a lot better anyways.

I noticed this too but with my own little blog, who would hear me if I ranted about it? Thanks for this one Jack. Maybe we could make an appeal to google. Whats wrong about having a link to your blog for reading other blogs.

Jack said “…you make new changes. But who told you to do this? You should improve to be better instead of to be worse….”

have you looked in draft.blogger.com, they are enabling openid users to comment on blogger, you need to login in the draft blog to enable the openid, so anyone using wordpress.com among others can comment.

i think its a good move from blogger.

Something is going on with blogger. Yesterday I couldn’t open one single blogspot page. Today, the imagens i posted don’t open in the browser window when i click them, rather a dialog box appears when asking if one wants to open or save the image! (even though they are only thumbails and noboby can viewed them properly full-size, as it used to be). Is this happening to you too?

2007-12-04 14:35:55

wow i’ve naver heard case like that before.
so, now they try limit images on our blog too? remind me why we’re still using blogger?

Agree with Jack. Why should we move our blogs from blogger if we don’t like their rules? Bluefur has a blog hosting plans for only $10 for a year of hosting (without domain). They have cool customer service too. Their blog is actively updated, and they try hard to build user communities. By looking so, I think they can achieve success they want in the future. You can find the information at John Cow’s blog. Damn it’s a great deal!

as u said it
google is evil

the only way to leave your URL is typed it after you typed in your comment

like this:
http://julia-aquino.blogspot.com

and i think blogger remove it
because of growing number of blogspot accounts changing their nofollow to dofollow

Comment by Jack
2007-12-07 12:22:27

oh you may right.
i have never thought about that before.
thanks to share your thought about this.

because google thinks removing “nofollow” is tolerating spams.
you, do you still have “nofollow”
in my blog
http://julia-aquino.blogspot.com
i still have it.

I used to have Haloscan–my big mistake. :( Sad that Blogger chose to remove the Name+Link option. At least OpenID now works. :) I’m using ClaimID with mine. :)

I am afraid I am going to disagree with all. I have pressed hard for “Other” in Blogger comments to be removed and they listened. The reason is with that, it is easy to impersonate someone you want to harm. You can put that person’s name for the comment and a link to his profile and make a seditious, slanderous, insulting to Islam or the Monarchy, racialist, etc. All these can get a person into trouble, even get jailed. Taking away “Other” makes that more difficult although not impossible. Wish other bloggers can have some sympathy for bloggers who are harassed, hauled to police station for questioning, jailed, all because of comments in countries like mine and other countries. Unfortunately, Blogger chose to listen to the majority and forget the unfortunate minority and leave these poor bloggers at the mercies of the authorities.
