I, too, was really disappointed in Haloscan. They have alot of problems and kinks to work out, so I removed it from my page.

Me too. I used Haloscan to make the comment form appear at the bottom of the post. (That was before the hack for new blogger–like this you’re using was created!) Now, I can’t get out of it. :(

I thought of using HaloScan because it will give me a trackback capability. But I found out many bloggers are not happy using HaloScan including you, Jack Book.

Can you hack Blogger’s template so that we, Blogger user can have a trackback too. It would be nice to have a trackback on our blog. Do you think so, Jack Book.

Greetings and lotta loves from Malaysia.

You said “HaloScan can’t give us the referrer URL of the comments. that make us can’t find out where the comment is coming from.” ——–> What are you talking about?? I know excactly which comment came from which post… it’s called “thread” in haloscan’s “manage comments”. Is it possible you istalled it in the wrong way?

Hi Tizzy,
what I am trying to say is. on your Manage Comments page. When you see a new comment submitted, do you know what is your post being commented?
let say you have 100 posts on your site.
which post is that comment come from? is it from post #1? or post #2? or post#100?
if you can help me with this, then I might recommend haloscan to my readers again.

thanks Tizzy.

hi Julia,
i have never embed haloscan comment inside my template, so if you install one of my template, you have to re install the haloscan script there.
but that is an easy job isn’t it? :) thanks

i have been trying to get comments to appear on the same page as my post for months, to no avail. i tried your hack from another post but i couldn’t get it to work properly. i fooled around with my template so much that now the comments don’t work at all.

since haloscan doesn’t seem to please many people, are there any other solutions like the one found on the blog http://www.strobist.blogspot.com ? if i sound desperate, it’s cause i am :-) help please.

hi jack,i too had problems with haloscan. It’s really bad. As you said all our old comments will be lost. Also, there will be a link to haloscan site from the comment form & it is bit irritating. I like to know what you have done to make this comment form look like an wordpress one ? Are you using the same blogger hack that you wrote some time back for this comment form ?..
